I know that a scotch straight is like 2 4 6 8 10 in different suits. But what is the hand called if they are the same suit? And if there is such a hand, where in the rank would it be?
That's a tough question to answer. You are basically talking about home games where people make up their own rules when it comes to things like a "scotch straight". There are two different kinds of poker, which I call kitchen table poker and casino poker.
In kitchen table poker people make up their own games, rules are vaguely defined, usually with some room for argument, and there are no written rules about these games because every one of them is different. When you play casino poker the rules are basically the same everywhere.
